Answers to the most common questions we get asked

We define an eco-adventure as a combination of an outdoor adventurous activity with an environmental
responsibility and sustainability education experience. Expect the following thrilling activities on an eco-adventure:

  • Eco-project volunteering
  • Outdoor sporting adventures delivered by expert facilitators – mountain biking, forest bathing, yoga, kayaking and much more!
  • Team-building exercises within sustainability themes
  • Keynote talks on sustainability leadership
  • Inspirational stories delivered by our pedal-powered cinema!
  • Group reflection and discussion sessions
  • Wellness activities and connection with nature-based solutions
  • Sustainability challenge games
  • Talks from eco-project experts
  • Sustainability workshops

Accessibility is key for us. You don’t need to be a super fit world-record-breaking endurance athlete like co-founder Isaac to participate in an eco-adventure. We have eco-adventure activities for all levels of ability in the outdoors. From trail running in the mountains to relaxing yoga within a forest – we offer it all!

From an individual perspective, you will gain a deeper connection with nature and your peers, leaving you with a true understanding of the meaning of sustainability. You hopefully will care more for the planet like we have come to do, and have learnt the basics of environmental stewardship resulting in becoming a sustainability leader with the tools to create a positive impact on our world.

From a business perspective, you will connect with community-led eco-projects with which you can continue your relationship after this eco-adventure, giving back to our world at a local level. You will see increased employee engagement and motivation behind the cause of sustainability, as this is a team- and culture-building experience woven into one. Furthermore, well-being and stress relief are some of the key benefits of being outdoors and active on an eco-adventure.

According to KPMG, one in three 18–24-year-olds have rejected a job offer based on ESG record. It is clear young people want a company that cares about sustainability and the future of the planet.
Taking part in an eco-adventure is a strong statement from your company that you value social and environmental responsibility, a crucial differentiator in attracting and retaining top talent, appealing to investors/stakeholders and growing customer loyalty.

The eco-adventure can be used as a springboard to drive your sustainability initiatives internally forward.

Typically we take a minimum of 7 people and a maximum of ~20 people.

Throughout the year, but as they are outdoors, our groups typically prefer the warmer climates, between March and October. We are busiest in the summer, so book early!

Recording of our talks will be subject to prior approval. If you are interested in recording a Climate Explorers talk, please mention this when inquiring about booking us.

Due to demand and existing charity and school commitments, we are only able to give a limited number of free talks each year for charities and discounted rates for the schools’ special events. Book early as soon as you can to secure a slot with us.

A Community Interest Company (CIC) is the UK version of a social enterprise, essentially a mix between a regular business and a charity.

Here’s what makes a CIC special:

  • Community focus: Our main goal is to help the community in some way – we do this through our eco-adventure and keynote speaking services.
  • Limited profit: We can make money, but it’s not the top priority. Any profits are reinvested in the company or community.
  • Asset lock: Our assets (like buildings or equipment) are legally promised to be used for community good.

B Corp, short for B Corporation, is a designation that goes beyond the traditional business model. It represents a commitment to balancing profit with purpose, ensuring that companies not only prioritise shareholders but also consider the interests of their employees, communities, and the environment.

To become a certified B Corp, we had to undergo a rigorous assessment of our social and environmental impact, governance, and transparency. This evaluation is conducted by an independent non-profit called B Lab. Only those companies that meet the high standards set by B Lab are granted B Corp certification.
