What Do we talk about?

Eco-Storytelling & Climate Solutions

We showcase some of the amazing projects and people we encountered during our Pedal 4 Parks eco-adventure.

Discussion on how to make small changes to make your business more sustainable, climate-resilient, and adaptable.

Convincing stakeholders to replicate and scale sustainable businesses.

Examples include:

  • Seaweed farming – cattle feed that contains 1% seaweed reduces methane output by 58%
  • Agroforestry – multi-purpose land use, where trees or shrubs grown around/among crops or pastureland
  • Sustainable city planning – encouraging active travel, leading to reductions in emissions & environmental impact
  • Regenerative community environmental projects – Carbon offsetting, biodiversity growth
  • Repurposing land/infrastructure in an ecological way

Motivational Talks

We discuss our journey, encapsulating what we learned about the following:

  • Surmounting challenges & adversity
  • Inspiration & motivational resilience
  • Mental health and how to keep it healthy in periods of high pressure
  • Striving for a just cause, turning a dream into reality
  • Overcoming fear of failure

Mental Health and the Outdoors

Connection with the outdoors and having a purpose.

We share personal stories of how our team members manage and live with mental health issues.

Isaac’s knowledge as a trustee for MIND is complemented by the lived experiences within our team of clinical depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation, that have been overcome in part through having a strong purpose and connecting with nature.

Team Building Talks

Our co-founder Isaac has a pedigree in organising and leading teams to achieve impactful and purpose expeditions around the world:

  1. Rowing across the Atlantic Ocean in a team of four.
  2. Swimming the English Channel in a relay.
  3. Summiting Mt.Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.
  4. World-first expedition cycling from Orkney to the Isles of Scilly over sea and land as an eco-adventure (Pedal 4 Parks Campaign)

These are by no means easy feats to achieve, building the right team is absolutely critical. Isaac’s talk will cover the below:

  • Team building & dynamics along with conflict management
  • Communication, trust & creating connections
  • Creating a high performing team
  • Connecting with a cause for a common goal
  • Appreciation and reflection
  • Taking Personal risk
  • Leadership in times of difficulty

The Climate Explorers team has a diverse background, ranging from world record holders to first time adventurers.

Here are some of the challenges our team members have previously completed:

  • 1 x 3000 Mile unsupported ocean row crossing
  • 2 world records for the longest continual row by an individual (3.5days) and in tandem (2days) on an indoor rowing machine (now that’s mental strength!)
  • English Channel swim
  • World-first self-propelled eco-adventure cycle over both SEA and land from Orkney to the Isles of Scilly

What DO we do day to day?

The Climate Explorers CIC is a passion project for us; we are a team consisting of an IT engineer, an energy transition analyst, business owners, and expedition leaders.
